First Sunday- Pittsboro

Yesterday we went to Pittsboro, NC for their First Sunday.  First Sunday takes place on the first Sunday of each month. All the retailers along Hillsboro Street are open from noon to 4 p.m.  Craftspeople and vendors set up shop on the sidewalks, and there's live music.

We discovered several cute shops, like the Urban SamplerVespertine, and French Conections

We also stopped in to The City Tap for a quick bite- we had the BEST nachos!   The couple who own's it were super nice- both artists.  Very cool decor and art!

We visited the Chatham Arts Council gallery and saw some fun and funky "bras" that are getting ready to be raffled off.
As usual, I found some artisans and crafts-people who's work I adored!   The first was Heather Gerni of Tangled and True.  Really cute earrings, pendants, bobbies, magnets, and art.  I walked away with some earrings and a scrabble pendant!

We also stopped at, and bought a bracelet at, an Amani Beads booth.  Amani Beads are from the Amani Children's Foundation.  The beads are made from the clay of Mt. Kenya by women at a fair-trade business in Kenya, and shaped into jewelry by volunteers in the US.  The proceeds go back to care for the babies in Kenya.

It was a lovely day discovering Pittsboro!
